Essence thoughts for the day!!!!!!!
Good Morning everyone,

Thanks for visting my personality page today.  As you've noticed today I've posted a story about Chris Rock and you'll see there's a woman who's in denial that he isn't her child's father and she's writing a tell all book about her affair with Chris Rock.  Fella's this subject comes up all to often where a man is married and he has an affair with a crazy woman (because that's what they turn out to be) and this fling doesn't want to leave you alone.  For all that it's worth men if you have a good woman at home don't step out because she make you mad, or she just happens to be having a fall off day where she wasn't flirting with you as much or all lovey dovey as she usually is.  Just say to your self is it worth me losing my wife/girlfriend over a one night stand? Probably not.  Keep that in mine fella's

Who would you like to see get back in the studio?
Wednesday 09-03-2008 5:36pm CT

Remember your favorite song's from the 90's?  Some of my favorite artists from back then were Monica, Xscape, Ginuwine, R.Kelly, Public Annoucement, and SWV just to name a few but those artist songs still put a smile on your face when you think of them.  What got me to write this was I was sitting in the studio the other day and of course I was on 993thebeat.com and I started watching some old Xscape video's and I said I wish all my favorites could get back in the studio and make some real music.  I'm not putting down anyone out now but  make you remember them by the actual meaning in the song.  I gurantee everyone has a song that when it comes on you remember what you were doing when you first heard it and who you was with at the time and so on.  In my opinion only a few can still do that because a song with meaning will last in the listeners mind forever but a song with just a good beat and nothing to back it just doesn't stay.

Have a wonderful day.

Remembering Aaliyah!!!!!!!!!
Monday 08-25-2008 12:43pm CT

Seven years ago today, the iconic Aaliyah passed away.  She was a truly gifted and beautiful young lady inside and out.  She didn’t have to sell sex or use any BS gimmicks (we won’t name any names) to showcase her pure talent.  R.I.P. BabyGirl

Story Courtesy of Bossip.com

After posting this story I got to thinking.  Aaliyah was only 22 when she passed away she didn't even get a chance to get married, have kids, or live out any more of her dreams.  I'm 23 right now and I promised myself that I would live everyday as if it was my last because you just don't know what tommorow will bring.  What ever I have right now I'm going to appreciate it and just be bleesed that I'm here on this earth and keep it moving and pray for better things to come.  Today I hope this touches someone to do the same and just take a second out from complaining and just be grateful.

E-5 selections will be announced Aug. 20

Promotion rate likely to be about 40 percent
By Bruce Rolfsen - Staff writer

Aug. 20 is the target date if you’re gunning to become a noncommissioned officer.

At 8 a.m. Central time, the Air Force Personnel Center will release the names of airmen selected for promotion to staff sergeant in the coming year.

This year, 36,332 senior airmen are eligible to test for staff sergeant, nearly the same as in 2007, and early indications are that the promotion rate again will hover close to 40 percent.

Potential staff sergeants tested for the promotion from May 1 to June 15. In addition to tests results, promotion scores are based on evaluation scores, decorations, time in the Air Force and time as a senior airman.

Beginning with promotion to staff sergeant, airmen compete with other members of their Air Force Specialty Codes to advance. Senior airmen can compete for staff sergeant once they have three years of time in service and six months of time in grade. They also must have earned a 5-level skill rating by their promotion eligibility cutoff date — March 31 for the 2008 promotion cycle.

The biggest factor driving how many airmen are promoted to staff sergeant is the retention of airmen for a second enlistment. If a large number of airmen are expected to leave at the end of their first enlistment, the promotion rate for the remaining airmen is higher.

In the past four years, the retention rate of first-term airmen has averaged about 59 percent, including a decline in 2007 to about 55 percent, according to Air Force budget figures.

During that same period, promotion rates have averaged almost 40 percent. The 41.33 percent selection rate in 2007 was the fifth highest rate since 1971. In 1992, during the post-Cold War drawdown, the promotion rate was as low as 5.48 percent.

Congrat's to all the new Air Force E-5's today on your promotion. Especially my husband out at Tyndall for working so hard to get it!!!!!!!

I LOVE YOU BABY!!!!!!!
